Dr. Thrall is one of the most renowned research pioneers in the field of pulmonary diseases. He is Professor of Medicine and Director of Pulmonary Research at the Pulmonary Division-Department of Medicine University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington, Connecticut. Dr. Thrall specializes in Lung Inflammation and Immunopathology.

Professor Thrall is the author of numerous publications, and the book "Pulmonary Fibrosis" - Sem H. Phan and Roger S. Thrall - Editors. In the National Institutes of Health series on Lung Biology in Health and Disease, Volume 80 Marcel Dekker Inc., New York, New York. R. Dale Winget, Esquire

Robert M. Irbe, Ph.D.

Dr. Irbe assumed the role of Vice President, Regulatory Affairs for EmphyCorp in August of 1996. He demonstrated exceptional multi-disciplinary skills that resulted in the FDA approval of the first clinical trials for N115, in less than 18 months, in December 1997. He managed the entire process from manufacturer, of the drug to the execution of the protocol. He served as the primary contact with the FDA during this crucial period.

Dr. Irbe has extensive experience in microbiology, food safety, quality assurance and working with FDA, USDA and other regulatory agencies. He has worked for major companies including, Nabisco Brands, Kraft General Foods, Monsanto and ConAgra. He has also worked for food and pharmaceutical companies and, contract laboratories and as an independent consultant. He has the ability to integrate concepts and knowledge from different disciplines and apply to the issue at hand. He has strong analytical and decision-making skills, which results in informed interpretations and resolutions to issues.

Ronald J. Amen, Ph.D

Dr. Amen has over twenty-five years of management and consulting experience in the food, nutrition and pharmaceutical industries. For over twenty years he provided these services as a Principal in ABIC International Consultants, President of Techenterprises and an Associate of Jasra, Inc. During these years Dr. Amen contributed business development, marketing strategy, licensing and acquisition support, new product development and clinical and regulatory services to domestic and foreign multinational companies, as well as start-up ventures. During this period Dr. Amen was called upon by clients to assume interim-CEO positions at Nextech Healthcare (nutrition and biotech) and the Avicena Group (nutrition and pharmaceuticals).He is a founder of three pharmaceutical companies, and a machine vision metrology company, and is presently on the Board of Directors of five start-up technology-based companies.

Dr. Amen's prior management positions within the pharmaceutical industry include that of Department Head, Nutritional Sciences for Syntex Laboratories and Director of Clinical and Pharmaceutical Research for McGaw Laboratories. In these positions Dr. Amen was responsible for all new drug and nutritional research and product development. At McGaw he was also a member of the international licensing and acquisitions group.

Dr. Amen received his doctoral degree in nutritional physiology from Rutgers University and did graduate work in business administration at Santa Clara University. Dr. Amen holds several patents in the pharmaceutical, nutrition, and food fields.
